had replaced as Antonio Rodríguez Romero, best known as "Antonio el bolero" and the grandfather of my friend Alberto. After the death of Rafael Santo took over the current foreman, Manuel Moreno Rodríguez.
I hope this has served as a tribute to people like Rafael, people willing to hold for hours at the home of the step, hours of cold water, fatigue, sleep ... and everything for San Antonio Abad visit our house every January. But in the early nineties, most basic sense of affection for animals, respect for nature and love and veneration for our patron, patron saint of animals, made Trigueros desist from such practice. I looked a lot like the facade of the present chapel of the Virgen del Rocío, on my street, the street Huelva.
The first references to this hermitage us back to the XVII and XVII, where there is evidence that this building was part of a hospital where he was sheltered and cured the poor.
In 1980 again the need for restoration of the chapel, with doubt in the air if you really needed a restoration or construction of a new existing on the site. At the end we opted for the construction of a new, retaining the style of the cover and clutch. This new construction was funded entirely by the people of Trigueros through donations deposited in the brush of the Holy and the personal contribution of many Triguereños / as.
But if someone should be emphasized particularly in this whole process of new construction of the chapel, that person certainly Dionisio Fernandez, who was the person nominated by the City Council and the parish to take over the project. Dionysius took the lead in the first commitment of the Holy and can not stop fighting until it was finished the work of our present chapel. I know that was always with the collaboration of Diego Pérez Cuenca.
The technical management of the works were made by architect D. Huelva Anadón Ricardo Frutos, which was to bring various projects and even came to call a public vote to choose the final design. Revenues for the works, as I said earlier, was contributed by the people and by the management committee of San Antonio Abad, and the official amount was 1,598,182 pesetas without calculation, of course, the value of benefits and contributions Free for the project.
